All are welcome to a series of ten illustrated talks given by Roger Mannion on 'Brunel: an Engineer's Life'. Isambard Kingdom Brunel is certainly one of our most famous and controversial engineers - producing outstanding designs far ahead of his time. We'll look at the man; his success & failures; all within the economic and political situation of the day.The course, which is organised by the WEA, starts on Tuesday 19th January 2010 and the lectures begin at 8.00 p.m. and last an hour and a half, with a coffee break in the middle, when there is a chance to look at and borrow books on the subject.
Venue is the Methodist Hall in Chapel Lane. The standard fee is £43.50 for the ten evenings.
