70 strong and getting BYGGER

The Bergholt Youth Group (BYG) has been up and running for the last three months and now has over 70 members. A grant from the parish council has enabled the organisers to purchase equipment for everyone's enjoyment.

For an annual subscription, plus 50p per visit, young people (school years 6 to 11) are welcome to join in the fun and games. The group is also seeking more volunteers so call Harry Stone on 01206 241026 if anyone is interested or would like more information.

Argents Lane Closed 22nd June for 5 days

Essex County Council have just advised us that Argents Lane is to be closed for 5 days starting from today in order to facilitate roadworks. This conincides with the pre-announced closure of Chapel Lane. Please check here for more details.

First responders at Village Fayre

The First Responders will again have a stall at this years Village Fayre. We hope that adults and children alike will come over to say hello and to learn about some simple life saving techniques that everyone can learn. The team will have practise equipment to demonstrate how easy it is to give CPR with the aid of a defibrillator and will have leaflets to give out if you are considering joining the group and would like more information. We’d particularly like to recruit some parents from Heathland’s to join us.

As a reminder the group meet monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. We welcome all walks of life as long as you can drive and are of reasonable health we’d love to hear from you. Money galore

The village collection during Christian Aid week has so far raised £2,346 of which over half was gift-aided.
